The Devil Is Back, Lucifer Season 5 To Premiere In August

Netflix has finally revealed the premiere date for the upcoming fifth season of Lucifer. Starring Tom Ellis as the devil, the first eight episodes of Season 5 will be available for streaming on Friday, August 2th.

The date announcement comes after Warner Bros. TV and Ellis closed the deal for the show’s return if Netflix has decided to renew them for a sixth season, which has been in negotiations since February.

Netflix announced the air date, along with the following statement: ‘In the stunning fifth season, the stakes are higher than ever. Secrets will be revealed, beloved characters will die, and we’ll finally get an answer to the question: Will they or won’t they?

Season 5 will be divided into two parts with Golden Globe nominee Dennis Haysbert (24, Major League) signing on for the role of God.
