It’s been almost a decade since we last saw Barney Ross, Lee Christmas, Gunner and the rest of the gang on their last mission which saw our favorite fouled mouth blood-soaked heroes in a tamer light. After hearing the pleas of fans begging the fourth installment be R-Rated, the franchise is going back to its bloody and violent roots.
As seen in the new trailer above for EXPEND4BLES heads will be blown off, sex will be had, and bodies will explode as Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture are joined by franchise newbies Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Jacob Scipio, Levy Tran and Andy Garcia.
EXPEND4BLES, the fourth entry in the hit Expendables franchise, is set to hit theaters 13 years after the debut of the first film. Longtime leads Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture are back once again as the series’ signature crew of elite mercenaries, but there’s a twist. A whole new batch of team members—the “New Blood” of the franchise—joins the fray in EXPEND4BLES, bringing new moves, new personalities, and of course, new conflict.
Unfortunately, there are no signs of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris, Jet Li, Antonio Banderas, Harrison Ford and Wesley Snipes, all who made cameos in the previous installments.
Is there a rivalry brewing between the newbies and the originals? What’s going on between Statham and Fox’s characters? What is the deal with that guy’s lust for violence and blood? With Statham getting top billing does this mean Stallone despite his second billing might play a smaller role? All will be answered when EXPEND4BLES releases in theaters on September 22nd.
