Grand Theft Auto VI Delayed To May 26th, 2026

Earlier today, Rockstar Games announced via their newswire website that Grand Theft Auto VI has been moved to May 26th, 2026. This news comes ahead of the Take-Two fiscal earnings call scheduled for later this month. Below are a few quotes from their statement regarding the delay.

Grand Theft Auto VI

We are very sorry that this is later than you expected. The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto has been truly humbling for our entire team. We want to thank you for your support and your patience as we work to finish the game.

With every game we have released, the goal has always been to try and exceed your expectations, and Grand Theft Auto VI is no exception. We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve.

We look forward to sharing more information with you soon.

Between the upcoming release of Mafia: The Old Country and Borderlands 4 later this year, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that GTA 6 might get pushed out. Today’s official confirmation might be disappointing for some, but it also gives us all something exciting to look forward to next year.
