Capcom has just revealed Resident Evil 9, which will go by the name Resident Evil Requiem. The trailer (posted above) closed out the Summer Game Fest stream earlier today, with Geoff Keighley expressing how elated he was that they managed to keep it from leaking.
Grace Ashcroft is the main protagonist of Resident Evil 9: Requiem, and she is the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft from Resident Evil Outbreak.
Resident Evil Requiem is currently described as a “heart-stopping experience that will chill you to your core”. The game will be playable to the public for the first time at Gamescom 2025.
The Resident Evil audience has been treated to a number of remakes the past few years, including Resident Evil 2 (2019), Resident Evil 3 (2020), and Resident Evil 4 (2023). The last mainline title was Resident Evil Village which released in 2021. While the remakes have been a success, fans have been craving a new line entry in the series, making Resident Evil Requiem a highly anticipated announcement.
Resident Evil Requiem launches February 27, 2026 for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.
