The Koalition invites you to take your first steps into a fantastic new era.
Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Moss-Bachrach) — as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.
Join us in the video above as The Koalition share their reactions to the teaser trailer that introduces fans to Marvel Studios’ version of the first family, the threatening presence of Galactus, H.E.R.B.I.E. as well as comparing the teaser trailer to what was shown during D23.

Opening with a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic Baxter building, on the Upper East Side near the river (42nd Street and Madison Avenue), viewers are introduced to loving couple Dr. Richard Reed and Sue Storm. Ben Grimes (now The Thing) spends his time in the kitchen with H.E.R.B.I.E. as they taste-test dinner and the importance of adding garlic (Yes, Chef!). The trailer alternates between life as astronauts, their failed mission and their transformations, making sure to emphasis that they are still them after getting powers. While everyone seems accepting of life after the monumental events, Grimes is going through a more reflective emotional journey. The trailer becomes dramatic there is clearly a threat in the distance by the name of Galactus followed by destruction, Johnny Storm in flames and The Thing running down the street and Galactus’ helmet in frame as he looks at the Statue of Liberty. Now matter what the threat it, they will face it together as a family.
Directed by Matt Shakman, produced by Kevin Feige, and executive produced by Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis, and Tim Lewis. The action adventure also stars Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne and Sarah Niles.
