Guerilla Games boss man Herman Hulst has said that he needs Killzone 3 to be on a higher technical level than the two Sony exclusives that have set the standard since Killzone 2. Since Killzone 2 dropped last year February, Uncharted 2 and God of War III have set the standard of what it means to create a technical masterpiece on the Playstation 3 platform.
In an interview with VG247 Herman revealed how Guerilla games, Naughty Dog and Sony Santa Monica have a lot of friendly competition. To them it is simply a game of who can push the boundaries the furthest on the PS3 platform.
“We need to, right?” said Hulst when asked if Killzone 3 would jump ahead of both UC2 and GoW III.
“That’s what we do. We talk to those guys a lot, both the Santa Monica team and the guys at Naughty Dog, and that’s the little game between us as friends of the studios.
“Yes, we do that, but then again they’re working on their next games and they’re going to have to do better again. So absolutely: we need to do that.”
It was rumored that Naughty Dog are working on Killzone 3 in some shape or form, so It is evident that the three studios maintain a strong relationship with each other. This will only benefit fans of each series, who wish to see the franchises get even better. We are currently hoping there will be more assets for Killzone 3 available at E3, until then we can only imagine what Killzone 3 will bring.
