Welcome to another episode of Throwdown. On this podcast/vidcast we discuss the latest video game news and topics in an uncompromising and honest manner. No developer, publisher, or fanboy is safe from us!
The corpse of the Metal Gear franchise hadn’t even gone cold before Konami decided to dig it up and trot it around. Not even a year after the release of Metal Gear Solid V, the now infamous Japanese developer has announced a brand new game called Metal Gear Survive. Instead of honoring the series with an appropriate game that would please fans, Konami has instead decided to release the most generic and boring type of game possible: a co-op zombie shooter. This is obviously controversial news so we dissect the announcement and give our thoughts on what this means for the once proud Metal Gear series.
Other topics we discuss:
– GamesCom news and highlights
– EA will start releasing remastered games
– PlayStation Now coming to PC
– Is Sega bringing back Virtua Fighter?
– Aaron Greenberg says Xbox Scorpio will be the last Xbox
