Earlier today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment revealed the first official trailer from their Initiation Challenge Map add-on for Batman: Arkham Origins.
Initiation puts the player in the role of a confident and combative Bruce Wayne as he faces a challenge that will ultimately define his career as the caped crusader. Warner Bros. has also promised to deliver fans a new challenge campaign filled with four unique challenge maps and two original skins in the form of Initiation Bruce Wayne and Vigilante Bruce Wayne. The DLC add-on will retail for $6.99 and launch simultaneously over Xbox Live, PSN, Steam, and the Nintendo E-Shop. Fans who purchased the Batman: Arkham Origins Season Pass will be able to download Initiation for free.
After getting a brief look at the trailer above, I would say that this concept offers a very interesting angle for Warner Bros. to explore. While many fans will be holding out for the story-driven DLC that is still being kept under wraps, Initiation could be just the thing for fans who enjoy the game’s core combat mechanics. Fans who have followed the DLC practices of these Arkham games in the past already have a general idea of what to expect and will therefore buy any and all content that comes their way.
