For a while now, fans have been clamoring to get their hands on Borderlands for their next gen consoles. Gearbox has been listening, it seems, as they have just announced Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Coming March 24, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection collects the 2012 hit Borderlands 2, and the more recent (sort of) prequel, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, into one handsome box. For $59.99, you’ll be getting not only both of the games, but also all of the DLC for both titles (there’s a ton for Borderlands 2).
Also coming to the games for the first time is four player local co-op, which means if you want to tear into some Skags with friends, you don’t even have to leave the confines of your house. For those worried about game saves, Gearbox has thought ahead:
“Already started Borderlands 2 and/or Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel on PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita or Xbox 360? Good news: using cross-save functionality, you’ll be able to continue where you left off by transferring your prior-gen save including your leveled up characters and Badass Rank to your next-gen console!”
As if that wasn’t enough, Gearbox is going all out, offering an extremely limited (5,000 units worldwide) edition of the game. For a very high price of $399, you will get the games, 12 lithographs, and a steel case, all housed inside a Claptrap that is able to be remote controlled via an iOS/Android app.
- Gyro technology to balance on one wheel allowing it to move wherever you want him to!
- Voice samples of some of Claptrap’s most iconic lines that can be activated on command!
- A real working camera in his “eye” that is streamed to your mobile phone, so you can see where Claptrap is headed!
Make sure to check the (now expected) dubstep filled trailer for the game, and let us know if you plan on forking over the money for your very own Claptrap.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection drops on March 24 in North America, and March 27 worldwide.
