Earlier today, Netflix released the first official trailer for The Defenders and confirmed that Marvel’s highly anticipated next series will begin streaming worldwide on August 18th, 2017. The action-packed trailer is embedded above for all of you to check out.
The Defenders follows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist as they team up to save New York from various enemies. Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter and Finn Jones will all reprise their roles as each iconic hero while Sigourney Weaver is expected to play a currently undisclosed villain. Fans of the Marvel Netflix shows should also expect appearances from other supporting characters throughout this 8 episode season story arc.
Iron Fist was the last series to debut on Netflix back in March and was met with some criticism. Hopefully, The Defenders ends up meeting everyone’s expectations once it finally arrives later this year.
