Last night, Konami released a comprehensive comparison video to showcase how Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will look on both current and next-gen platforms.
The footage above is a direct result of comments made by Hideo Kojima earlier this week in regards to the game’s resolution differences on all four consoles. The iconic producer revealed that Ground Zeroes will run at 1080p and 60 fps on the PS4 and 720p and 60 fps on the Xbox One. He also added that the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will both run at 720p and 30 fps respectively. After hearing this news, several PlayStation fanboys went into a frenzy and proceeded to boast about how much better the PS4 is than the Xbox One.
Kojima’s decision to release this video was done specifically to show that this Phantom Pain prologue looks good on any and every system. While many will still continue to argue over these resolution issues, the real problems worth debating lie in both the price and length of the actual game itself. Konami knows that they can get away with convincing Metal Gear Solid fans to invest in this demo and thus this is why they are taking this questionable sales approach. Hopefully this game will be somewhat enjoyable because if not, the series may falter as a result.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes launches on the PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Xbox 360 on March 18th in North America and March 20th in Europe. Which version of Ground Zeroes will you all be picking up? Do you think the resolution issue even matters compared to the price and length of the game?
