Brink Releasing a Full Week Early

Games are delayed all the time. That’s probably why games don’t see a release date until a few months before they are expected to hit store shelves. In fact, some games are notorious for being constantly delayed and pushed back (Duke Nukem Forever anyone?) A new FPS developed by Splash Damage and published by Bethesda Softworks is going the opposite direction, however. Originally scheduled to come out on May 17th, the game is now supposedly coming out on May 10th, a full week earlier.

“Production wrapped on Brink earlier than we planned and we didn’t see any reason to keep gamers from getting their hands on this highly anticipated game as soon as it was ready,” said Pete Hines, VP of PR and Marketing for Bethesda Softworks. “It’s apparent from the tremendous reaction so far that people are eager to jump online and play, and if we can make that happen earlier – we’re going to.”

The game will be releasing on 360, PC and PS3. Let’s hope it lives up to the hype and gives us something unique in the FPS genre!
