Konami today announced that the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will be heading to Sony’s brand new handheld, the PlayStation Vita sometime this Summer. The HD collection will not be exactly the same as the one recently released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, The Vita version will ship minus Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, which is a little disappointing, but on the plus side you will get enhanced versions of Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Both will come complete with new trophies to unlock , a rebalanced user interface and exclusive touch screen controls. Kojima Productions have also said that both games will make use of the still stupidly named, Transfarring system, which if you forgot allows you to share data with the PlayStation 3.
“The PlayStation®Vita system will provide fans with an exciting new way to enjoy the METAL GEAR SOLID HD Collection,” said Martin Schneider, General Manager for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “We’re confident that users will be pleased with the new innovations Kojima Productions have implemented with the new PlayStation®Vita iterations, offering a truly unique experience for this exciting new format.”
With a few big events on the way, expect to hear a little more about the HD Collection, but while you wait for some more news take a peek at some Vita sized screenshots.
