Today Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment unveiled 17 minutes of gameplay footage from their upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins video game.
The extended walkthrough video above showcases the caped crusader as he navigates throughout Gotham City in search of clues and unsuspecting criminals. Eventually our hero is led back to the Batcave where he picks up a few non lethal gadgets to aid him in battle against corrupt Gotham City Police Department officers. Senior Producer Ben Mattes and Gameplay Director Michael McIntyre at WB Games Montréal provide the narration as we get a sense of the deep combat system and engaging narrative behind Arkham Origins.
After taking a look at this latest video, I remain impressed but all the work that Warner Bros. Games Montreal has put into Batman: Arkham Origins. By using Rocksteady’s formula and adding their own enhancements to it, the studio has succeeded in creating a game that feels like it truly belongs in the Arkham franchise. The question of if Arkham Origins will outshine the other games in the series still remains a long shot, but at the very least this game has a respectable chance at being good.
Batman: Arkham Origins launches worldwide on October 25th and will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC. What do you all think of the 17 minute gameplay walkthrough? Do any of you think that this game deserves to be a part of the Arkham series? Please feel free to let us know your thoughts on these topics in the comments section below.
