The Morning Gamer – 11/19/2014

Our friend Torrence Davis (Editor-in-Chief of The Bit Bag and STFUandPLAY) has released a brand new episode of The Morning Gamer. There’s been a lot of interesting things happening in the games industry lately and Torrence goes in on some of these topics.

The first topic is about single player versus multiplayer. Torrence talks about how he is more of a multiplayer guy than a single player guy because he has more fun playing games with his friends. He specifically brings up Dragon Age: Inquisition and how he’s having a blast playing the multiplayer with his cousin. Tor doesn’t really understand people who don’t want multiplayer in their single player games. He also talks a bit about Dragon Age‘s combat and how he doesn’t like that you have to hold R2 to attack. Sounds like he would have really liked Dragon Age II.

The next topic is about Gameageddon 2014: Part Two. A slew of games were released yesterday like Far Cry 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition, LittleBigPlanet 3, and Grand Theft Auto V. Torrence talks about how this was already bad enough without EA deciding to drop a new DLC for Battlefield 4 and how he is still playing games like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Assassin’s Creed Unity.

Finally, he talks about Ubisoft’s recent problems. Torrence tells people not to lay blame on Ubisoft’s developers for AC Unity‘s issues but instead, blame the publisher and shareholders who try to crank these games out every year. Developers try their best but they have no control over when their game is released, especially a monster like Assassin’s Creed. He also brings up Driveclub and how Sony’s infrastructure wasn’t ready for the influx of people playing on the PlayStation Network.
