EA has just confirmed that Mirror’s Edge 2 will be coming out in early 2016. This news comes to us from the company’s latest financial earning’s report.
The game was announced during E3 2013 during EA’s press event. At the time, the game was slated to be released for “next-gen” consoles which are now the current-gen PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will also be coming to the PC as well.
We don’t have much information about the game. We do know that despite it having a 2 on the name, this will be a reboot of the franchise. During last year’s E3, EA said that it wants to take the fundamentals of what made protagonist Faith a character and introduce those elements into a brand new origin story.
It’s safe to assume that EA will show more of Mirror’s Edge 2 during this year’s E3. If the title is indeed intended to be released in the first quarter of 2016, then we should see some gameplay footage of it very soon.
Stay tuned for more news on this as it is revealed.
