Obsidian Entertainment is preparing to release their first expansion to their crowdfunded cRPG, Pillars of Eternity, on August 25th. “White March – Part 1” will be adding new Monk and Rogue companions, a higher level cap and abilities, a new realm to explore, and artifacts.
The expansion also offers additional story content penned by Carie Patel and Eric Fenstermaker. Patel was a writer for the Recolleta series and Fenstermaker co-wrote South Park: The Stick of Truth. Both also wrote the original Pillars story.
Pillars of Eternity is one of the most engaging and well written RPGs of recent years with a very welcome complexity in its combat. The overwhelming response to the Kickstarter campaign already led to a wealth of additional content, but the new expansion aims to bring another layer of depth.
