During last night’s Game Awards show, The Coalition and Xbox Game Studios released the world premiere trailer for Gears Tactics and confirmed that the turn-based strategy game is coming to Windows 10 and Steam on April 28th, 2020. The in-depth trailer is embedded above while a detailed description of the game is included below.
Gears Tactics is a fast-paced, turn-based strategy game and first in the long-running Gears of War series to be developed from the ground up for PC, will launch April 28th, 2020, on the Windows Store and Steam and will be available the same day with Xbox Game Pass for PC (Beta).
Developed by The Coalition and Splash Damage, Gears Tactics is set 12 years before the first “Gears of War” and features an immersive and character-driven story that follows the defiant soldier Gabe Diaz, voiced by Noshir Dalal, to rescue and build up a squad in a journey of leadership, survival, and sacrifice. Playing as Gabe, players will customize their squad and equipment to prepare their troops to face tough enemies, upgrading squad skills and outfitting them with loot collected in challenging missions. Fans can pre-order “Gears Tactics” to receive the Thrashball Cole Character Pack which includes Augustus Cole as a recruit and the Thrashball Armor Set, complete with rare abilities.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps launches a month prior to this game, effectively giving Xbox players different types of gameplay experiences to sink their teeth into. Stay tuned for more details on both games over the next few months.
