Moon Studios and Xbox Game Studios released a brand new trailer for Ori and the Will of the Wisps during The Game Awards 2019 that revealed an updated release date of March 11th, 2020. The gameplay trailer is embedded above while a brief synopsis of the highly anticipated sequel is included below.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps will revolve around telling the story of a new adventure to discover the world beyond the forest of Nibel, uncover the truths of the lost ones, and unearth Ori’s true destiny. This sequel relies on autosaving rather than manually placed soul links, and the sequential upgrade system of the first title has been abandoned for a dedicated shard system more akin to charms in Hollow Knight.
The gameplay footage is nothing short of stunning from start to finish. Ori and the Will of the Wisps had been originally scheduled to launch on February 11th, 2020. The brief delay by a few more weeks isn’t significant and fans who have been eager to jump back into this Metrovania stylized world will have a lot of great things to look forward to.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps will arrive on both Xbox One and PC in a few short months. Players who have Xbox Game Pass will also be able to download the game on the same day. Are any of you looking forward to this sequel? Please feel free to let us know in the comments section below.
