Ghost of Tsushima
Ghost of Tsushima is an open world action-adventure stealth game developed by Sucker Punch Productions. Taking place during the 13th-century, Ghost allows players to take on the role of lead protagonist Jin Sakai, a samurai on a quest to protect Tsushima Island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan. This was another standout exclusive title from Sony this year and is definitely worth checking out if you’re interested. Final Fantasy VII Remake
Final Fantasy VII Remake is an action role-playing game and the first installment in a series of remakes based on the 1997 PlayStation game Final Fantasy VII. Final Fantasy VII Remake was revealed during Sony’s E3 2015 press conference and ended up becoming April 2020’s best-selling game. Immortals Fenyx Rising is a third-person action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Quebec. Taking all of its inspiration from Greek Mythology, Immortals Fenyx Rising follows the trials and tribulations of a shield bearer named Fenyx who must use the powers of the Gods to end the reign of a deadly creature named Typhon. This is a game that really impressed me and is perfectly suited for both fans of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. DOOM Eternal
DOOM Eternal is a first-person shooter developed by id Software and the sequel to 2016’s DOOM. The story takes place eight months after the previous game and revolves around the Doom Slayer continuing to decimate the demonic creatures of Hell who have now taken over Earth. If you love FPS games, then this is one you need to check out as soon as possible. DOOM Eternal is out now for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Google Stadia, and Nintendo Switch. Gears Tactics is a turn-based tactics game developed by Splash Damage and The Coalition. This unique spinoff based on the Gears of War franchise really surprised me and served as a great reminder of why I fell in love with the XCOM series. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered is a remaster of the popular 2010 racing game Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. EA has spent some time this year remastering several of their older games and this is the latest racer to enter the fray. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is an action role-playing game and the twelfth major installment in Ubisoft’s popular Assassin’s Creed franchise. Astro’s Playroom
Astro’s Playroom is a 3D platformer developed by Asobi Team and comes pre-installed with every PlayStation 5 console. While Playroom has been described as a free tech demo, it simply can’t be overstated enough that it is a perfect representation of what possibilities are capable with the DualSense controller. If you do own a PS5 and you still haven’t played this game, then I would highly recommend that you check it out. I personally guarantee that you will be blown away by how immersive this game is from start to finish.
