We read the, we heard the reports, and even glimpsed at the leaks, but finally Activision and Treyarch has confirmed this year’s Call of Duty will reboot the Black Ops brand as Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War.
Not only is there confirmation but the game’s first-ever teaser trailer has dropped. In the 17th overall installment in the series, it comes after weeks of viral teasing by Treyarch and Infinity Ward, which included sending “gaming influencers” real-life Cold War-era projectors with cryptic slides, in-game Warzone teasers, and countless Easter Eggs for players to solve.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is releasing for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. There is no confirmation for Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia.
While a release date has not been announced, the full reveal will come on August 26th via Warzone.
