Playing With Duality – An Interview With Gangs of London’s Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù

Based on the PSP 2006 video game, AMC’s Gangs of London is a gritty violent crime drama that seeps into the underbelly of the UK underworld genre.

From the first episode we see Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù’s as Eliot, a dart-wielding low-level mob member Elliot destroying eight guys in a metropolitan pub. There is no sugarcoating the life of characters in this world as mayhem, bone-crunching violence coupled with fantastic writing and entertaining plot twists.

Set in the heart of London, one of the world’s most dynamic and multicultural cities, Gangs of London tells the story of the city being torn apart by the turbulent power struggles of the international gangs that control it and the sudden power vacuum that’s created when the head of London’s most powerful crime family.
