Everything We Know About Eli Roth’s Urban Legend Anthology Series

The beauty about urban legends is they never die, no matter how outlandish they may seem. For horror master Eli Roth, urban legends are right up his alley and lucky for us he’s decided to fully explore them in his new series Urban Legend, which premieres on Travel Channel and begins streaming on discovery+ October 28th.

Based on widely shared “true” stories that happened to a friend of a friend of a friend, each of the eight episodes could easily be its own horror film filled with psychopaths, unsolved bloody mysteries, creepy creatures and a jump scare lurking around the corner. In this anthology series, it focuses on modern-day folktales.

Urban Legend will feature a tale of a scuba diver who ended up in a tree to the curse of a white prom dress to a room where a woman livestreams scenes of torture and execution to sadistic patrons.

Roth and the writers and directors of each episode did take some liberties with each legend to make then realistic. For example, “The Harvest,” the story of a guy whose kidney was stolen, and he wakes up in a bathtub full of ice with a stitched upside.
