Persona 4 Revival was officially announced at the Microsoft Xbox Showcase 2025 after becoming the worst-kept secret of Summer Game Fest. Developed by Atlus, Persona 4 Revival is a remake of Persona 4 using Unreal Engine. Given Persona 3 Reload, we can expect Persona 4′s remake to be a faithful adaptation with gameplay similar to the popular Persona 5 (2017).
The teaser trailer for Persona 4 Revival (pinned above) doesn’t reveal much. There are no updated mechanics shown, no dialogue interface, and no snapshots of the battle system. There isn’t even a release date. This suggests the game may still be far out, with a later 2026 release window possible. The trailer footage looks to be in an early stage of development. Still, it’s reassuring to know that Persona and Shin Megami Tensei fans are getting new content. The original Persona 4, and Persona 4 Golden are treasured additions to the series. Having Persona 4 with a modern makeover will be a treasure for many fans. The age-old debate of Persona 3 vs Persona 4 can now carry over to a new generation.

Atlus Director Confirms The Team Is Working On Future Persona Games In Addition to Persona 4 Revival
Atlus didn’t leave us completely empty-handed, though. P-Studio director Kazuhisa Wada dropped a post on X after the release of the Persona 4R teaser. First, Wada clarifies they are tight on Persona 4 Revival details for now, stating: “We look forward to sharing even more information in due time.“
But Wada goes on to build up hype for the highly anticipated Persona 6, the next mainline title in the series.
“Additionally, we are actively preparing for the future development of the Persona series as a studio. We are working hard to meet the expectations of fans around the world, and our work is progressing well. Please stay tuned for more updates. We look forward to your continued support of the Persona series.” – Kazuhisa Wada
It’s good to know that the studio is preparing for the future of the series, but if they’re still in the preparation stage, then we’re likely around 2 years out from any Persona 6 announcement. Thankfully, we still have Persona 4 Revival to hold us over.
