Update:
I removed the video and replaced it with the official one from Sony.
Original Story:
Earlier today, Capcom accidentally uploaded a video which was supposed to be shown at the PlayStation Experience. What was it? As we reported earlier today, it was none other than a trailer for Street Fighter V which is a PC and PlayStation 4 exclusive. Capcom obviously didn’t want this video out so early and they’ve since pulled it from every place they can. Thanks to Daily Motion user Versus Fighting TV (who I found out about from our friends over at DualShockers), we have the video here for your viewing pleasure.
The video itself mostly shows footage of past Street Fighter games mixed in with clips of fans from around the world showing their love for the series in a myriad of ways. The narrator of this trailer talks about overcoming one’s mental limitations in order to achieve their goals. This has always been a subtext of Street Fighter and is one of the reasons people have such great admiration for the franchise.
We don’t see much Street Fighter V action proper. The video only has a few seconds of Ryu and Chun-Li, arguably the franchise’s biggest characters, fighting each other and doing their signature moves. This being a current-gen only game, it looks fantastic. Both characters have more detail on them as do the backgrounds. Thankfully, the game retains its stylized look and it actually looks even more like drawings comes to life which is most definitely a very cool thing.
We’ll hopefully have more info on Street Fighter V given to us when it is officially announced at this weekend’s PlayStation Experience event.
