Infamous rap group NWA are this week’s Throwback Thursday featured artist.
We have selected five NWA tracks to revisit.
The first of the five tracks is “Dope Man“. Released in 1987, “Dope Man” was released on NWA’s debut release titled “NWA and the Posse“. The song is performed by Ice Cube and Eazy-E.
Track two is “Compton’s N the House“. This was released on NWA’s debut studio album “Straight Outta Compton“. “Compton’s N the House” is performed by The D.O.C and MC Ren.
The third track from our selection is from the same album. “Something Like That” is another track from “Straight Outta Compton” which is performed by The D.O.C and MC Ren.
Track four is “100 Miles and Runnin’” from their 1990 EP of the same name. This song was released as a single and contains a few shots at then-former member Ice Cube. All members of the group participated in the song.
The final song of our selected five is “Alwayz Into Somethin’“. This was released on their last album “Niggaz4Life” and was released as a single in 1991. “Alwayz Into Somethin’” also appeared on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas‘ soundtrack. Dr. Dre and MC Ren are the performers and again, shots were thrown at Ice Cube.
