Shulk, one of the most wanted characters for the Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS roster, has been confirmed. The Xenoblade star was announced in a recent Japan-exclusive Nintendo Direct.
A trailer was also released which we get get an extended look at Shulk, as well as his various move sets. Shulk features a number of sword based special attacks, including counters, upward slashes, and magical sword lasers. In addition, we see his final smash, where he will summon Dunban and Riki, two other Xenoblade characters, to help assist. The trailer closes by teasing Xord, a giant mechanical antagonist of the Xenoblade series.
Super Smash Bros. will release on 3DS on October 3, 2014. The Wii U version is due to release sometime this winter.
