17 years ago, Hip-Hop lost an icon in the form of Tupac Shakur. He was gunned down in Las Vegas on September 13th, 1996 after attending the Mike Tyson vs Bruce Seldon boxing match.
To mark the occasion, TheKoalition.com has decided to compile a play-list of 17 2Pac tracks that everyone must hear.
The play-list contains some of 2Pac’s most famous hits and some of his most powerful songs from his extensive catalogue he accumulated in his short career.
Classic hits such as “California Love” (featuring Dr. Dre), “Dear Mama” and “Keep Ya Head Up” feature in our selection.
Other tracks which are synonymous with 2Pac’s career include the infamous classic diss track “Hit ‘Em Up“, which was directed to not only the one-time nemesis Notorious B.I.G, but his entire Bad Boy crew. 2Pac’s classic collaboration with DJ Quik “Heartz Of Men” from his 1996 album “All Eyez On Me” features, as well as his aggressive 1993 single “Holla If Ya Hear Me“.
The often overlooked “Papa’z Song” appears alongside “Dear Mama” as well as 2Pac’s posthumous release “Letter 2 My Unborn” which appeared on the 2001 album “Until The End Of Time“. The title track of that album was also selected.
Other notable 2Pac tracks that were selected include: “Hail Mary“, “Thug Passion“, “Changes” and more.
