Originally slated for release this Spring, it has been announced that the Xbox One console exclusive, ReCore, has been delayed.
This comes on the heels of another Xbox One exclusive, Scalebound, getting delayed as well. A Microsoft representative told Engadget this: “We have not yet set a launch date for ReCore however the game will be ready in the latter half of 2016.”
As we reported, the once Xbox One exclusive will now be a console exclusive as it was revealed that the title is heading to PC as well. In an Xbox Wire post earlier this week, Microsoft listed the exclusive games it plans to launch this year. ReCore was listed as coming to the Xbox One as expected, but it was also listed for a Windows release as well. Answering questions on Twitter, Xbox head, Phil Spencer, explained that the game will be released on PC to give players more choice over what platform they can play ReCore on.
ReCore was announced last year at E3 during Microsoft’s Xbox Media Briefing event. The game will be published by Microsoft Studios and is being developed by Keiji Inafune’s Comcept and Texas based studio, Armature. The game’s lead writer is Joseph Staten, who was a co-creator of the Halo and Destiny universes.
When we have a solid release date for ReCore, or if it is delayed to 2017 like Scalebound, we’ll let you guys know.
