A new E3 rumor is stating that Sony is going to reveal a premium PSN service at E3 2010 next month. VG247 and its “highly placed source” is saying Sony has put together a high scale monetizing model for PSN that wont disrupt the current free model. Its looking to cost less than Xbox Live, and subscribers will get perks such as one free PSN game a month and more.
A streaming music application similar to Spotify will be announced in Sony’s press conference on June 15. It’s thought that this can run in the background while playing games.
The article doesn’t state whether or not this was a subscriber feature or a regular feature free users would get as well. But I sure hope this is something all users get or else this won’t go over well at all.
The source reassures nothing in the free PSN account will be gimped in this new change. This new announcement is said to be a big part of Sony’s E3 message along with the Move. Remember to take this lightly as well. Though the source seems credible, a rumor is a rumor.
