The question of whether Metal Gear Solid’s most praised character will make an appearance in Metal Gear Solid: Rising has arisen with the recent news that David Hayter has yet to be called to deliver his voice to the game. David Hayter who has been the voice of Snake (and young Big Boss) for 12 years recently told MTV Multiplayer that he has not received a call to provide his voice in the game up to this point.
“I don’t know if I’m doing ‘Metal Gear Rising,” he said. “Nobody’s contacted me about it, so I have no idea.”
There is still hope however; as David Hayter mentioned that they may be waiting until the Japanese version of the game is complete. I don’t see why Snake’s voice wouldn’t appear in the game at least once, even if he wasn’t actually appearing. For example, they could have flashbacks, or an old recording relating to Snake. It is hard to imagine a Metal Gear Solid game that does not include Hayter’s voice in some way, but this is coming from die hard Metal Gear fanatic.
