Max Payne 3 Set For A March 2012 Release

Rockstar Games went cold turkey after they made their initial announcement for Max Payne 3 in March of 2009. We seen the wild west and the 1940’s pass us by and still nothing about a former NY cop, until now. Rockstar has set a March 2012 launch window for Max Payne 3. (Sorta surprised it wasn’t May, especially after Red Dead and L.A. Noire both launched in May).

“Max Payne 3 gave us an amazing creative opportunity to evolve one of our most iconic characters,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We’re excited to show fans a modern version of Max that pulls them back into his dark and twisted story.”

May Payne 3 is said to pick up after the events of Max Payne 2. Max now finds himself in Sao Paulo, Brazil working security for a wealthy industrialist. A gang warfare ensues, leaving Max to protect his clients and clear himself. More importantly, Max Payne looks to keeping the bald head he had since the announcement.

One of the highlights of the series are the “Bullet Time mechanics, which will be returning Max Payne 3. Rockstar is hoping to make a “sophisticated” upgrade to the feature.

A first in the series, Max Payne 3 will include “an addictive multiplayer experience”. It is said to feature “deep reward and leveling system, persistent clans and multiple strategic load-out options.”

Max Payne is set for March 2012 on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
