Fans of stealth games will be overjoyed to hear that Hideo Kojima, mastermind of the ever-popular Metal Gear series, has confirmed that work has begun on Metal Gear Solid 5, though details are, at this point, pretty scarce.
What is known is that the game will feature more Solid Snake, and will be developed for the Fox Engine, which pretty much ensures that it won’t release this console generation. It will also be more focused on infiltration, with characters that can interact with the player, similar to Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Story-wise, Kojima has hinted that he’d like to make a game that takes place during the invasion of Normandy, though where this game will go is anybody’s guess (the series is known, after all, for taking all sorts of crazy turns).
The game is set to release via PC and “high-end consoles”, opening the possibility that it may launch on the next Microsoft console, instead of the usual partnership with Sony.
