In addition to the game being free, several Assassin’s Creed II DLC add-ons will also be on sale for the rest of the month. This is the latest game part of the Games With Gold promotion which promises to deliver Xbox Live gold members 2 free games every month. Halo 3 is another title that was announced for this promotion but it is still uncertain when this game will actually be given away.
While I thoroughly enjoyed Assassin’s Creed II, I’m very disappointed that this is one of the main games that Microsoft is pushing with their current games with gold promotion. There is an impressive array of titles that the studio could be giving away instead of this and when it comes to the value of PlayStation Plus, there is absolutely no comparison whatsoever. Hopefully Microsoft will learn from the competition and make games with gold better over time, but I highly doubt it.
What do you think of this promotion? Can Microsoft put out better games or are they too stubborn and cocky to do so? Feel free to let me know in the comments section below.
