Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII might possibly be the last PS3 game I ever buy, so not only is it a game I’m heavily anticipating, but it also bares a lot of significance on the end of a generation for me. For those reasons I planned to pre-order the game regardless, but now seeing this latest treat has be extra excited to place my pre-order.
Square-Enix has outlined the bonus extras that come with each order, including a Cloud Strife costume and Buster Sword DLC. A press-release sent out by Square Enix this morning describes two different packs:
The Pre-order bonus pack includes a steelbook case, and a DLC code that unlocks the Cloud Strife outfit, Buster Sword, Soldier’s Band item as well as Cloud’s victory pose.
Alternatively, the Lightning Samurai set is themed around samurai history, and includes “Shogun”, “Sohei Savior” and “Flower of Battle” items.
As you’ll see in the video above, not only does Lightning have Cloud’s victory pose, but we also hear the famous Final Fantasy VII victory fanfare.
There’s already a huge emphasis on outfits in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, with each one enhancing Lightning’s ability in some way, so it will be interesting to see how the Cloud outfit and Buster Sword improve her combat.
The game releases February 14th 2014 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
