The SCEJA conference has so far shown off titles we’ve already known about since E3 and Gamescom. However, Sony showed off a trailer for one particular franchise that should excite Atlus’ fans: Persona 5.
The trailer was every bit a teaser; however, it successfully set Persona 5’s tone. It depicts a young man who senses a mysterious force in the city as he rides a train. When the trailer doesn’t focus on the young man’s journey, it frequently shows images of shackles being broken, accompanied with ominous sounds. It ends with the protagonist staring into a mysterious blue flame.
While not much was shown beyond anime cutscenes, the trailer revealed that Persona 5 will be released in Japan in 2015, and it will be coming to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. This is a surprise considering that the long-awaited fifth entry was originally revealed to be exclusive to PlayStation 3.
