Sony has today announced that the PS4 will be getting an update which improves many features on the console.
Some details were revealed about the update over at the PlayStation Blog, where they gave a run down of some of the things that will be improved. These include:
- A video editor to allow you to personalise video clips
- The ability to export videos and screenshots to an external USB
- Adds on HDCP off option for capturing gameplay over HDMI
- Twitch streams to be archived
- Twitch streams to be at 720p
The post then promises more updates and information at a later date. Unfortunately there is no timescale for this update but hopefully PS4 users will not have to wait long. The ability to stream in 720p and to archive Twitch streams was a needed addition and a video editor is always welcome. Overall this seems like a solid update.
Let me know in the comments what you think about this update. Do you like the additions? What else would you like in an update?
