Summary: Aleksandra “Zarya” Zaryanova is a Russian, pink-haired soldier who loves to play around with particles and gravity. On the battlefield she deploys powerful barriers that convert incoming damage into energy for her massive Particle Cannon.
Zarya Tips
- Try not to use Zarya’s Projected Barrier on allies simply because it’s available. Wait until your teammates are in genuine danger as the barrier only lasts 2 seconds and has an 8 second cooldown. Those 2 seconds are enough to save an ally at a crucial moment, so don’t waste this ability
- There’s no need to aim for the head of your enemies. Unlike other weapons in the game, the Particle Cannon doesn’t do any extra damage when it’s aimed into the side of someone’s head
- Zarya’s Graviton Surge can help set up other ally Ult such as D.va’s Self-Destruct, Pharah’s Barrage, Soldier 76’s Tactical Visor or McCree’s Deadeye. Inform your team on the status of your Ult. If you don’t have a headset then you can use the command that displays your Ultimate charge level in the chat box
- Be efficient with your ammo. Using only your laser, and using an Explosive Charge when you have very little ammo left, is the most ammo efficient way to deal damage.
- The splash damage dealt out by Explosive Charge will also damage Zarya if she’s caught up in it. Don’t use it at close range because your laser will be much more effective at that range
