Overwatch: Tips For Using Every Character

MCcree Guide

McCree

Role: Offense
Summary: McCree is an outlaw who fights for righteousness. He utilizes a revolver, flashbangs and a Combat Roll on the battlefield. His hit-scan Peacekeeper revolver makes him one of the most precise offense characters.

McCree Tips

  • Flashbang should be used in every close range face-off, plain and simple. If your aim is good then you should hardly ever lose a one on one face-off after a Flashbang, unless the opponent is a Tank.
  • It’s also important to know that Combat Roll reloads McCree’s revolver, so you could effectively chain a few shots, a Flashbang, a Combat Roll and Fan the Hammer together for a nice execution
  • McCree’s precision can make him deadly, but he can be picked off easy when outnumbered. It’s important to play alongside your Tanks and Healers to stay on the battlefield as much as possible. Reinhardt and McCree complement each other well
  • Aim Flashbang at a Genji’s feet to avoid him deflecting it

Using Deadeye

  • Using Deadeye for the first time is always confusing. Be patient and give McCree a few seconds to lock onto all targets in sight. Try not to panic and shoot too soon as you’ll miss out on some one shot kills
  • Deadeye has a notable audio cue, so enemies will be on alert as soon as they hear it. Try to catch enemies off guard with it as much as possible. This will likely mean flanking them so that you can trigger the Ult from the opposite direction that the action is taking place from
