Deep Silver, Nine Dots and Maximum Games have announced a new open-world RPG titled Outward. This title launches on March 26th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam. The gameplay trailer embedded above gives a slight preview of what to expect and a brief description of the upcoming game is included below.
Outward is a hardcore open-world fantasy adventure game filled with deep simulation and immersion. Players take on the role of a true inhabitant of a sprawling world, requiring biological maintenance and self-preservation against a harsh, unforgiving environment. These simulation aspects extend to the game’s representation of magic as an intricate web of rituals required to evoke supernatural powers. Outward also includes two-player local and online multiplayer, with local split-screen. This feature allows two friends to share a journey knowing they have at least one ally at their side and offers unique opportunities for strategy.
Outward is being billed as a different type of RPG experience with an emphasis on spellcasting and exploration. It will be interesting to see if the final product ultimately does delivers on this notion.
