Earlier today, Rockstar Games confirmed in a blog post on this official newswire website that Red Dead Redemption 2 is scheduled to launch worldwide on October 26th, 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One. Below is the official statement from Rockstar Games which dives further into why this highly anticipated title will miss it’s originally announced Spring 2018 release date.
We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish. We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel to the previous game in the series and follows the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan as a loyal member of the Dutch van der Linde gang. Fans can expect both a highly engaging single-player story mode and online multiplayer components similar to GTA Online but it’s currently unclear if multiplayer will be available at launch. Embedded below are a few more screenshots to give fans a better idea of what to expect from the final product when it drops later this year.
