A Fatherly Role – An Interview with Palm Springs’ Peter Gallagher

Peter Gallagher is America’s dad. He provides great comfort and love in his roles and viewers can’t help but root for him.

Acting since 1980, Gallagher reached a new fan base in 2003 when he starred in The OC as Sandy Cohen. He would go on to play the dad role in several other movies. However, in 2020, he captured our hearts once again in Zoey’s Extordinary’s Playlist. Now he’s back in Andy Samberg’s creative romantic comedy, Palm Springs, where he plays the father of the bride.

Palm Springs stars Andy Samberg (Saturday Night Live) and Cristin Milioti (How I Met Your Mother and Fargo) as wedding guest stuck in a time loop start to develop a budding romance. It’s Groundhog Day meets something entirely original.

Unlike Gallagher’s role in Playlist which made fans ball their eyes out, Palm Springs is the literally definition of a laugh-out-loud comedy.

The Koalition spoke to Gallagher about his role as Howard Wilder, who he would love to be stuck in a time loop with and more.

Hulu’s Palm Springs releases on July 10th.
