During DC FanDome earlier today, it was confirmed during the Titans panel that the highly anticipated third season of live-action superhero show will take place in Gotham City and feature three new characters in Red Hood, Barbara Gordon, and Dr. Jonathan Crane aka Scarecrow. Below is a quick description of each character.
Red Hood (Series star Curran Walters) — Jason Todd now dons a new identity in his obsession to take down his old team.
Barbara Gordon (to be cast) — Former Batgirl Barbara Gordon is now Commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department. Although she has a past relationship with Dick Grayson, she is wary of the Titans now being in Gotham.
Dr. Jonathan Crane (to be cast) — Known to most as the Scarecrow, Crane is a current inmate at Arkham Asylum and offers his services as a profiler and consultant for the Gotham City Police Department.
I started watching Titans during this extended quarantine period and I’m very impressed by how good the show has been so far. Hearing today’s news is also exciting because I’m curious to see how the team will fare in Gotham and against their former friend turned foe in Jason Todd. His full transformation from Robin to Red Hood as well as how Barbara and Scarecrow’s roles within the entire season should make for some very compelling storylines.
Titans Season 3 currently has no confirmed release date but my best guess would be either late this year of Spring 2021. Stay tuned for more details on this and definitely check out the show if you’re interested.
