Guild Wars 2 Second Public Beta Event Details

If you consider yourself an MMO gamer, a PC gamer, or someone that enjoys fun things, you should be following this game. I wrote up an in-depth impression of the first beta weekend, including my own custom gameplay footage, so be sure to check that out for my opinions on the experience so far. They had a stress test for a few hours a couple weeks ago, but besides that no one has been able to set foot back in the wonderful world of Guild Wars 2; until next weekend, that is!

Taken from the official blog post, a few select details are as follows:

Beta Weekend Event 2 will begin on Friday, June 8th, at noon PDT (GMT-7) and will run until SundayJune 10th, at 11:59 p.m. PDT (GMT-7).

If that isn’t enough to get you all bursting with excitement, here is some more news:

Your existing beta characters have not been deleted, and you will be able to continue right where you left off! This means that enterprising players with characters level 35 or higher will be able to test their mettle against the explorable version of the Ascalonian Catacombs dungeon!

We have listened intently to all of your feedback from our first Beta Weekend Event, and we’ve made great strides toward resolving many of the issues you’ve helped us identify. These include party movement into overflow servers, chat functionality, key bindings, server stability, performance, and many more that we will detail in the near future.

This is all great news in my books. They have been hard at work installing new hardware and server infrastructure to make it even more stable during this beta weekend, have specifcally addressed some of the biggest complaints people had, and even opened up some new content for those players disciplined enough to actually have leveled a single character that high.

I hope to see some of you in-game, if you want to play this or some other games with me, hit me up at david@thekoalition.com! And, as always, be sure to drop some comments to let us know your thoughts on the game and the most recent beta event.
