Today, Crytek released a brand new trailer showing off various story and cinematic setpieces from their upcoming Ryse: Son of Rome video game.
The video above dives headfirst into the story of Marius Titus as he embarks on an epic journey filled with betrayal, revenge, and war all set to the historical backdrop of the Roman Empire. This trailer carries a much more emotional tone than the ones before it in the sense that we get a glimpse of Marius losing loved ones and taking out his anger on approaching adversaries. Prior to this video getting released, we were treated to two story centric trailers exploring both the narrative and lore behind Ryse: Son of Rome. Microsoft had made a conscious effort to keep Ryse fresh in everyone’s as evidenced by releasing all these trailers throughout the month. Hopefully when all is said and done, this gamble by both studios will payoff.
I recently had a chance to play Ryse gladiator multiplayer mode at an Xbox One World Tour event here in Atlanta. The overall gameplay experience was very enjoyable but will definitely require many to practice regularly for the best results. I’ll be writing up some more of my thoughts on the game once I have a few more gameplay sessions underneath my belt.
