Namco Bandai, as usual, is catering directly to the sweet love of it’s legion of fans with two Naruto game releases this upcoming week. Powerful Shippuden sports a fancy typo on its spine (check out our videos here for more details) along with side-scrolling fighting action based off of the anime Naruto Spin-Off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals. Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 is the latest installment in the popular series based off of the Naruto Shippuden anime and aims to be the biggest and best game in the franchise thus far. Check out the video above for the general unboxing, including some nice posters and other goodies courtesy of Namco Bandai.
Full Title: Naruto Powerful Shippuden
Developers: Inti Creates
Publisher: Namco Bandai
Platforms: Nintendo 3DS
Release Date: March 5th
Naruto Powerful Shippuden is a unique game in that it’s not only based off of a spin-off anime series, but it’s also not a fighting game like most other Naruto (or anime, for that matter) based games. Instead, this is more a side-scrolling brawler style game where you can control Lee and Naruto in order to complete different levels and missions. The game has a much cuter and almost ‘chibi” art-style and really bright visuals. Check back in at The Koalition for a full review the week of release to see if the game is worth your time.
Full Title: Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3
Developers: CyberConnect2
Publisher: Namco Bandai
Platforms: PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360
Release Date: March 5th
Sporting the largest cast of characters ever in the Ultimate Ninja series, this game has a massive roster of over 80 playable characters. The general gameplay is similar to other entries in the franchise, while the story mode will play more like the previous numbered entries, as opposed to the latest prior installment, Generations. You can expect lots of high-flying action and beautifully animated visuals – key trademarks of the games and anime alike. Check back in at The Koalition around release for our full review of the game and recommendation on if it’s as good as it has the potential to be!
