Earlier today, 2k Games revealed the first official gameplay trailer for their upcoming third-person squad-based shooter The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. This gameplay footage comes almost 2 weeks after the game was first revealed.
Appropriately titled “Origin Declassified”, the video above gives a brief preview into how the XCOM organization started and shows a few brief shootout sequences between squads and aliens. The trailer also carries a very eerie vibe to it in the sense that it leaves plenty of open-ended questions to be answered. In addition to this trailer, 2k Games also released several more screenshots for the game which can be seen below.
After having a look at the trailer and screenshots above, I must admit that I am intrigued by this game. Fans of the XCOM series won’t think twice about picking up this game on day one and I can see why. The only real disappointment I do have is the fact that 2k Games won’t have a booth at this year’s E3. Considering that this game is slated to come out on the same day as both Saints Row IV and Splinter Cell: Blacklist, this just feels like a missed opportunity to promote XCOM Declassified further. In the end, the popularity of the series will more then likely be enough to sell this game with very little effort on 2k’s part.
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified releases on August 20th in North America and on August 23rd in Europe for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Where you impressed by this gameplay footage? Please feel free to let us know in the comments section below.
