When Bethesda confirmed the existence of The Evil Within late last week, I became puzzled as to whether this survival horror project was actually a movie or a video game. However, my interests grew even further once I heard that Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami was involved.
Today, Bethesda decided to reveal the first official batch of screenshots for The Evil Within to the masses. Fans of the Resident Evil series will notice right away the sadistic creatures and signature shooting angle that Mikami is known for including in his other games. After taking a glimpse of these 10 screenshots, I’m still skeptical of this game and whether or not it can deliver a truly unique experience on it’s own. Mikami has gone on record many times saying that he regrets Resident Evil 6 and wants to get back to making his games more scary and less action oriented. Ultimately, only time will tell if he is able to get that vibe across in The Evil Within.
