On this week’s episode of Turn Based, The RPG podcast we welcome Matthew Sainsbury from Digitally Downloaded. This week’s discussion was centered around the Japanese Role-playing game (JRPG) sub-genre and how it can evolve to once again become popular in the mainstream. We used the ‘Tales’ series as a case study, as some feel that the series doesn’t reinvent itself enough to catch the attention of new gamers.
We also speculated on Project Destati and what the countdown will reveal later today. Evidence shows that it’s something related to Kingdom Hearts, but neither Square Enix nor Disney are involved with the project. On the subject of Kingdom Hearts we also shared our thoughts on the slow progress for Kingdom Hearts 3.
We also touched on the PS Vita TV and how it could help the Vita platform moving forward. Will we ever see a bigger abundance of RPGs on the platform?
