This past weekend, Kotaku released a report confirming that Homefront: The Revolution Game Director Hasit Zala has officially left Crytek UK for unspecified reasons. This news comes just a little over a month after the game was revealed to the public prior to E3 2014.
Crytek made headlines a few weeks ago when it was reported that the company may be headed for bankruptcy in the not too distant future. Several former employees also left the company after making claims that they were being paid late for quite awhile now. Despite both of these reports, Crytek reps keep insisting that the company is doing fine is hard at work on Homefront: The Revolution and several other titles right now.
As someone who is generally interested in what this project has to offer, I’m hopeful that they will still get this project done. Rumors have been swirling that Deep Silver may offer assistance in getting this game completed if needed. Stay tuned for more updates on this game, Crytek, and the future of the series as we get it.
Homefront: The Revolution is expected to launch on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC sometime next year.
